FIRECODE Acrylic Firestop Sealants are specially formulated single-component, water-based, acrylic sealants used for firestop applications. They are effective in numerous UL systems for wall and floor through-penetrations and head-of-wall construction joint applications in USG™ Fire Stop Systems.

The sealants (Type A and Type SA) remain flexible when dry, making them resistant to damage from impact and preventing them from cracking.

Type A is formulated for applications that include metallic pipe, insulated pipe, conduit, copper tubing and pipe, and construction head-of-wall joints, and applies with standard caulking equipment.

Type SA is specially formulated for head-of-wall firestopping spray applications, and applies with spray equipment, trowel, or brush. The acrylic, elastomeric material remains flexible after drying so that it can accommodate movement. Its fast spray application saves time and money.

FIRECODE Acrylic Firestop Sealants are available in a rust, red color that is easily seen and identified by fire marshals. They can be painted once fully cured.

The sealent is classified as a component (fill, void, or cavity material) of a thorough-penetration firestop to joint system in accordance with the Standard ASTM E 814 or ASTM E 1966.


Packaging: 10.15 fl. oz. (300 mL) cartridges, 30/carton; 28.8 fl. oz. (850.5 mL) cartridges, 12/carton; and
4.5 gal. (17 L) pails.
